Bought their pastries at the Bridge Market — best thing I paid for all day. We bought 2 different kuglof, and the smell in the air “made me” get a warm sausage roll. The kuglof is so interesting, as it’s not like a muffin or baked good commonly found at bakeries. We had the spicy chorizo, and it had such a strong kick of heat and the richness of the chorizo. I have nothing to compare the bread itself to, but the flavours was so interesting and well delivered. However… the sausage roll had me dancing! The pastry was buttery and flakey. The best part is that it’s just not a good mouthfeel, but the pastry itself has so much flavour (which isn’t always the case with savoury pastries)! You can taste the herbs throughout. The sausage was also homemade with herbs and spices, very well balanced (rather than just a meaty flavour thst you find in cheap sausage rolls). It tasted like it was made with alot of thought and care. I was so happy with their pastries, that I had to find and save them on my google maps for next time 😊 we didn’t find them at this address, but I think they’re at local Ballarat markets.

@Quince.Cakes had her goodies ready at the market when we got there and did not disappoint. She told us she stayed up all night making the baked goods and you could just see the passion she has for sharing her love of baking. The honey butter cake was crazy good. The owner and creator Dusica is one of the most generous and gorgeous humans you’ll ever meet.

Cannot recommend Quince & Cakes highly enough! We put a last minute order in for a morning tea, only giving two days notice for a huge order. Dusica was so lovely and accommodating of our dietary needs. Everything we ordered was as absolutely divine, from the cookies to the mini Bundt cakes - it was all magical. The honey cake was a crowd favourite, so tasty. Would recommend this place for birthdays and events if you’re looking for something extra special!
