This is my go to place when l want a sweet treat anywhere near the Mall, their Portuguese tarts are the absolute best, as is the apple slice, slight crunch to the pastry not soggy, and the vanilla slice is delicious too. Obviously all fresh baked on the day and well priced, l bought a vanilla slice and a Portuguese tart yesterday for just $6 all up! Last week l had a Portuguese tart at another cafe that cost $5 and was soggy and awful, obviously leftover from previous days.

I recently visited My Baker on a cold and rainy day. The chicken satay pie was a delicious way to warm up, and was very reasonably priced as well. The service was instantaneous - as soon as I walked in I was attended to. Highly recommend this location for a lunchtime pie if you are in Newcastle City.

My first time here, very busy lunch time rush although there wasn't a que when I ordered, a que developed while waiting for my order which took 10-15 mins. It appears to be quite a popular cafe getting plenty of foot traffic in The Mall & workers calling in for their lunch. I ordered a double egg & bacon roll for $8 which I thought was a good deal but found the roll & bacon to be dry. Maybe a different kind of roll would improve it. Not sure why the bacon seemed a bit dry too though. Despite this, I'd still go back & try something else. They have a good selection of pies & cakes & do lots of different sandwhiches too. Salad rolls & baguettes would be a nice addition.

Awesome bakery where I had a delicious sandwich and the best Portuguese tart I’ve ever had! The bread was also deliciously good. The pies and sausage rolls look delicious I’d definitely go back again.
