Absolutely loved the Uji Matcha Shortcake here! The matcha flavour is spot on โ€” that subtle bitterness really gives it an authentic, high-quality taste. The cream is light and smooth, not overly sweet, and the addition of red bean throughout the cake (including a lovely filling in the middle) is just perfect. The owner is super friendly too, which made the whole experience even better. Definitely a favourite among everyone I shared it with โ€” highly recommend!

Great find in Auburn! Made to order cakes if youโ€™re looking for something specific. Ordered the matcha cheesecake for a birthday and it was absolutely delicious! Highly recommended. Thanks Maki. :)

This is the 2nd year I ordered Makiโ€™s cake for my husbandโ€™s birthday! Last year was Uji Matcha shortcake and this year is Uji Matcha Opera. The cake is again very tasty, matcha based, looks good. I ordered through WhatsApp on Wednesday and collect it on Saturday of the same week. All I have been looking for in Sydney is something lighter, not very sweet, authentically matcha (real taste of matcha powder), and cute. I have found what I want from Maki : ) It appears that the address is a restaurant and Maki did not specify in her website that we need to go through to the kitchen inside the restaurant to collect the cake! It will be better if that is specified in the website. Also there are not a lot of photos regarding what the cake selections look like in the website too. It is a bit hard to imagine what the cakes look like. Also be careful that the same address in navigation can lead you to a place in Homebush, but actually it is in Auburn. Check carefully when you set the destination for driving. Would like to try other cakes by Maki too! โ˜บ๏ธ

Delicious strawberry shortcake. I ordered a small which fed 4 of us with 3 of us going for seconds. I loved this cake as it was light, fluffy and not too sweet - sponge type cakes are my favourite. Even my husband who isn't a cake fan enjoyed it and had 3 pieces in total. I would definitely order again. Communication with Maki was easy and prompt. Highly recommend.

Absolutely amazing Japanese strawberry shortcake. The sponge is soft and moist and cream is very light, creamy and not too sweet. Very professionally made. The whole cake just melted in my mouth with that softness and and moistness. The berries were fresh and sweet. Ive been craving for Japanese shortcake and this is one of the two best Japanese strawberry shortcakes I found in Sydney ! Will definitely order other Japanese cakes as well!!
