Transported to France - French music and the smell of butter. Lovely citrus theme. Wonderful cheesecake! And other delights
Stopped in for a Carmel chocolate cookie. Staff were friendly but wasn’t blown away by the cookie. It was a bit hard for my liking, nor warm. Didn’t really seem all that special :(
Beautifully presented baked goods and a fresh front doorstep enticed us into this store in Degraves Lane. The Basque cheesecakes were $10-12 per slice (enough to share between 2 people) or whole cakes for about $55. Handmade by the French lady behind the counter, this cheesecake melts in your mouth. No need for additional cream, icecream etc….the cheesecake is the star. Thank you, Lemon and Butter, you have put the icing on my Melbourne holiday.
We all agree that this is where you’ll find the best Basque cheesecakes in Melbourne (especially the pistachio one…). But we also have to mention the other absolutely delicious pastries! Canelés? Flan pâtissier (a real one, just like in France!)? Madeleines? There’s even plenty of choice for chocolate lovers… On top of that, the staff are lovely, always smiling, and happy to give advice. Without a doubt, this is the best French patisserie in Melbourne. À bientôt, Julie!
Cute laneway outpost of the already known Queen Vic Market regulars with their store smelling of freshly baking cheesecake and madeleines. English and French speaking staff!
