I always wanted to go there, been following Reece on masterchef. Planned to go and taste the cakes showed on insta. Was on holidays the week before and still needed 1hr to reach the shop. How disappointed I was๐. There was not much choice there, even the kids didn't seem excited to taste something. But we took each a cake as we travelled specially to be at Cake boi. The girl serving at the counter left the door of the display cabinet open and let flies in . I was keeping an eye ,mostly what I ordered. When it was my turn to be served, I noticed a fly sitting on the last slice of cake I ordered and the girl was going to serve me this portion. I told her twice that I didn't want a cake where a fly has been sitting on it and she replied twice "The fly is gone now"๐ณ๐ณ๐ณ. Shocking reply, I would say๐. I don't understand people working with food , don't even care about hygiene! I won't bother going there again even if I pass next to the shop im the future.
My bestie & I were lucky enough to attend the Cakeboi Gingerbread & Sip class today and enjoyed every minute of it! The team were friendly, helpful and very accomodating! We had so much fun and look forward to making this a tradition for us in years to come! The food served during the class was delicious ๐ซถ๐ผ
Lovely vegan coconut raspberry cake for a birthday on the weekend... missing a few little red garnishes, but that didn't affect that taste... Received an email from the owner and that glitch in the system is being addressed. I'm sure the the little red thingies will be there in the future! PS have just forwarded you the email...
When Cakeboi first opened years ago, I tried two slices of cake, one early on and another a bit later. Both were fine. Not bad, not good, just the kind of meh you forget about instantly. Then a friend had their Persian Love Cake for a birthday and it was delicious, I figured maybe theyโd levelled up. Oh how wrong I was. Recently I bought a whole red velvet cake and, to put it bluntly, it was trash. Bitter, burnt, dry, and somehow managed to taste like nothing. The frosting was as flavourless as office air, and the crumb garnish was so old and dry I have to wonder if it was ever actually cake. As a huge cake lover, Iโve never met a slice I couldnโt finish, until now. The whole cake went straight in the bin, where it belonged. These reviews must be paid actors, because it ainโt good and I bother againโฆ
Just another great little cafe In Hamilton. The cakes ๐ง are absolutely delicious and plenty to choose from for your taste buds. I would definitely recommend going to this cafe. Staff are friendly and service was excellent.
